4th       Hillcrest taught Col 3. Swimming. David jumping from fourth board. Vom. Ate with Wlmshurxys. talked with the bigamous former evangelist john Nash. Greeted Yau the bookseller too.
5th       Planning with dele who says i am to be general manger of Amazing Grace. Colin Bulley at Theological Society on New Testament extension of personality.
6th       Mrs Leftwich says Rachel is doing well. Deans to dinner.
7th       Told petrol to be scarce because the refinery is to be cleaned.
8th        Muslim public holiday. Took boys fishing with some caught. Swimming but rather cool.
9th        Sorted books. Swimming. Petrol OK because three police at the pumps and no cans allowed.
10th      We hear Maiduguri has a youth versus establishment problem in the church and the Inter church Workers are no help.This awareness grew over the next months. COCIN leadership was the old Hausa trained conservative wise men with life formal education versus the young turks, the been too with their overseas degrees. Te regarded themselves as well educated for leadership but frustrated by the old guard. Both sides were conflicted but it was not in the open. Everyone could criticise and blame the expatriate . 14th        Katy not teaching because of Debbie. Sorting books. Some sales.
15th        Deb on ampillin and stopped vomiting. Water tank dry.
16th        deb and Jonathan some better. Selling to bookshops.
17th        Rockhaven having to pump well water. Sold books to Vom bookshop. Bought meat there. Butchered it. Swimming. Petrol in short supply.
18th        Col 3 went well at Hillcrest. Swim after guesthouse lunch.
19th        Explained Amazing grace plans to Daniel Bitrus, COCIN general secretary. Sold to two bookshops. Graeme rule advising on advertising. Power off from noon.
20th        David got a chopper and birthday party. Chaired COCIN communication committee.
21st        Dele's driver Samuel took me and books to Kano.
22nd       *:20 Kano plane delayed at Tunis. Change Amsterdam. Lady fro Welwyn came to wrong terminal at Heathrow. I arrived 5pm terminal 1 . She was at T3. Public transport to potters bar by (pm.
23rd        Bought a British Rail fortnight pass. All day at Evangelical press.Ian Tat has resigned. His elders accused him of being a lover of monetyafter an old lady left property to him and not the church.
24th         London shopping. Saw Chariots of Fire. Excellent. Developing a taste for bitter.
25th         Bill Clark long at Welwyn. Lunch with Godfrey's. Dinner with Bickleys - IPC [astor. Overnight at Larsons.
26th          Visited trinitarian Bible Society and Hodder and Stoughton then Welwyn elders.
27th           To Send the Light then Digby and Marianne James in Tooting.
28th           Lion Publishing took me to a pub lunch. Talked to IVP too. Dinner at Welwyn with Bill Clark. Heard new pastor, Bob Sheehan who is most able.
29th           Lunch with Paternoster Press in Exeter then to Aunt Myra in Newport.
30th           Myra says Dorothy overeats and will do anything for food. Train to York to stay at Skipton.
31st           Shopping in Thirsk. Aunt Vera and her mother visited. Tea with Mrs Boddy. Dinner at the Old Mill Topcliffe. Steak overdone.
