Rutherford's Correspondents - 2. Robert Gordon
Robert Gordon was mentioned in Letter 1 and is addressed in Letter 129 as Baillie of Ayr. He was therefore a magistrate and also a member of the Ayr town council and a merchant. In 1644 he supplied the Scots army in Ireland. He was cousin to Lord Kenmore. He was twice Provost of Ayr and a faithful supporter of the Presbyterian cause.
