Gold Rush Country

Main Street Grass Valley with the Holbrooke Hotel on the lefy.
The Holbrooke dates from 1852 claiming to be the oldest saloon west of the Mississippi. But I saw none of those wild gals from the Westerns and the law prohibited my cigar. Bourbon prices are steep too.
The view to the snow topped Sierras from our host;s veranda.
As I walked by Santa's Grotto in this mall I was offered a job!
