You cannot achieve the impossible without attempting the absurd.
Human cardiac catheterisation was introduced by Werner Forssman in 1929. Ignoring his department chief, and tying his assistant to an operating table to prevent his interference, he placed a urethral catheter into a vein in his arm, advanced it to the right atrium [of his heart], and walked upstairs to the x-ray department where he took the confirmatory x-ray film. In 1956, Dr. Forssman was awarded the Nobel Prize.
He who ascends to mountain tops, shall find,
The loftiest peaks most wrapt in clouds and snow;
He who surpasses or subdues mankind,
Must look down on the hate of those below.
Lord Byron [George Noel Gordon] (1788-1824) _Childe Harold's Pilgrimage_, Canto III [1816], Stanza
Everything I've accomplished I've accomplished through the grace of God and pure stubbornness. Mary Fairchild
