How do you have victorious living here on earth?

I also had an invitation to preach at the Spirit and Life Family Bible Church in Copley Close which os within a mile of our own church building. This is their denomination which I would call black Pentecostal. I had met their pastor at our evangelistic book table in Greenford. He invited me to preach warning me they were small, often not in double figures. He also did two thing unique in all m=y preaching experience. He sent me a sermon outline with five points and texts from a leader in his denomination. These are the amended and expanded notes. He also said I was to preach 45 to 60 minutes. I did and the eight listeners were most attentive.

How do you have victorious living here on earth?

  1. Take God’s word seriously
What do you take seriously? Fortune tellers, horoscopes, the weather forecast? What the world says? What the government says?
dIs 66:2 But this is the one to whom I will look:he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.
2 Tim 3:16 dAll Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that ethe man of God2 may be complete, equipped gfor every good work.
Job 23 12  I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;I have etreasured the words of his mouth more than my fportion of food.
Ps 119:103  How esweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104  Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore fI hate every false way.105  gYour word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Heb 4:12 For wthe word of God is living and xactive, ysharper than any ztwo-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and adiscerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Jn6:63 zIt is the Spirit who gives life; athe flesh is no help at all. bThe words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But cthere are some of you who do not believe.”
Believe the word - not the world!
2. Be established in who you are in Christ
Paul uses ‘in Christ’ 84 times.
Our identity is Christian. That is the name we bear. My colour does not matter. My passport does not matter. What others think of me dnm. Even how I think of myself dnm. What matters is how God sees me In Christ.
See esteem, self worth. How do you find it? Compare with others and you will either fool yourself of be depressed. Not so good looking. Not so well educated. Not so well off. Not employed. Discriminated against. All lead you to depression if that is how you view yourself. How does God see you. In Christ. Loved. Forgiven. Justified. Sanctified and awaiting glory. You life is hid with Christ in God. You live because Christ lives. You are the son of a king, daughter of a king. Esteem yourself, not because you are worth if but because Christ is.
Rom. 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Rom. 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
2Cor. 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
Gal. 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal. 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal. 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
Eph. 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Eph. 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
1Pet 2:But you are za chosen race, aa royal bpriesthood, ca holy nation, da people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you eout of darkness into fhis marvelous light. 10 gOnce you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Rom 6:We know that wour old self1 xwas crucified with him in order that ythe body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For zone who has died ahas been set free2 from sin.

3. Live by grace
Grace means you are not accepted for what you do but for what Christ has done. You have received God’s grace in Christ.
Rom 5: Through him we have also cobtained access by faith2 into this grace din which we stand, and ewe3 rejoice4 in hope of the glory of God.
Rom. 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Eph. 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Eph. 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Eph. 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Eph. 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Eph. 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

4. Deepen your knowledge of God’s promises
2 Cor 1:20 For lall the promises of God find their Yes in him.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

5. Learn to declare the victory in every situation you find yourself
2 Cor 2:14 But jthanks be to God, who in Christ always kleads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads lthe fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
1John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Psa. 47:1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
Psa. 92:4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
