EX-CABINET MINISTER: ‘PARENTS KNOW BEST’ FOR KIDS ON SEX EDUCATION

EX-CABINET MINISTER: ‘PARENTS KNOW BEST’ FOR KIDS ON SEX EDUCATION

Dear marriage supporter,
Esther McVey MP has said what parents around the country know: they’re ideally placed to decide what relationships teaching their young children receive at school.
McVey, who twice voted against same-sex marriage in 2013, told Sky News: “I believe parents know best for their children”.
And despite the ensuing criticism, McVey refused to tread the well-worn path of sidelining parents.
While expressing support for LGBT issues being taught in school, she maintained, “the people who should know whether it is age-relevant are the parents not the state”.
We agree: Parents know best.

Hong Kong opposes SSM – like over 160 countries around the world

“It’s the only form of marriage the world knew before 2001”.
The words of Hong Kong Government lawyer Stewart Wong Kai-ming SC, referring to traditional marriage – 2001 being the year the Netherlands became the first country to introduce same-sex marriage.
Wong was putting the case against an attempt to redefine marriage in Hong Kong through the courts.
We might be surprised to see a government defending true marriage – but we shouldn’t be. More than 80% of the countries of the world still don’t have same-sex marriage.
