BBC says,'A woman who was made a Freeman of the City of London last year is to exercise her right to drive sheep across London Bridge to highlight two causes.
Amanda Cottrell, from Challock in Kent, aims to promote attempts to raise £50m to restore Canterbury Cathedral and a scheme backing local food production.
She will be joined by Viscount Linley and historian Dr David Starkey.
The right of Freemen of the City to drive sheep across the bridge is a privilege dating from the 11th Century.
Mrs Cottrell, 67, a former High Sheriff of Kent, said: "This is a unique and, I hope, effective way to raise the profile of both these issues. I am very much looking forward to the event.
"Something like this hasn't happened for about 10 years so it's a huge deal.
"It's a fantastic way of promoting two causes but we will have to hold on to the sheep because the police are concerned they might launch themselves into the Thames."'
I think it would have a much higher publicity value if she could get the Archbishop to lead the flock and then launch himself into the Thames. I'd like to see Starkey jump too.
