It's not cricket

On Wednesday I saw the sixth One Day International at The Oval, when with a fine batting display India beat a good England total of over 300 runs. Afterwards we sporting English losers shook hands with jubilant Indians near us.Saturday, the seventh and deciding game of the series at Lords was a different matter with India restricted to 187all out. The difference was made by better England bowling and that being reinforced by Flintoff coming into the side. When he had Dravid and Tendulkar caught behind the numerous Indian contingent in the crowd did not like it and started to boo Freddie for as long as he bowled. He should have had Uppatha caught too but that call wrongly favoured the batsman. Replays showed the umpire got it wrong with Tendulkar too. So if someone was at fault it was the umpire, not the bowler. Freddie deserved no boos and the unsporting Indian supporters should be ashamed of themselves. So we finished by 5pm and I went home past Wembley where our footballers were beating Israel 3-0.

Last Saturday was a very rare moment in British sport. England won the cricket, rugby and football matches they played. I hope the rugby victory is not forgotten quickly. The Springboks are due any day now.
Who is having a braai this weekend?

SA did very well in the first of the 20:20 World Cup games though undiscipline Windies bowling added a lot to their score. I fear your rugger team may thrash a depleted England on Friday.

Dear Graham
Even with Wilkinson, England at the moment have a real issue about the quality of their game. they did not deserve to do as well as they did last Saturday even to the USA
I was shocked.
They need to really pull their socks up.

Yes pull up both socks and 15 South Africans. I am not optimistic. But wasn't yesterday great? England win again at Wenmbley and both Aussies and Frogs trounced by minnows!

Well they did well at wembley again....but lets see how they do tonight.Hope everyone who supports England has prayed extra.

I believe most people of faith will not pray for their team to win. I pray for a good game and no injuries.
