Pope Adrian IV - christiansquoting.org.uk

[S]trive to imbue that people with good morals, and bring it to pass, as well through yourself as through those whom you know from their faith, doctrine, and course of life to be fit for such a work, that the church may there be adorned, the Christian religion planted and made to grow, and the things which pertain to the honor of God and to salvation be so ordered that you may merit to obtain an abundant and lasting reward from God, and on earth a name glorious throughout the ages, - Pope Adrian IV to Henry II of England, encouraging him to invade Ireland so the Irish church would come under the See of Rome. He was the only English pope.

If it was up to the popes of the catholic church there never would have been a day of thanksgiving to God in America because they believed the world was round back then. I thank God for Thanksgiving in America and the faith in God and the Holy Bible of the Pilgrims who left England to come to America and were successful in doing so by faith in the true God of the Bible,The Lord Jesus Christ. Who died for all our sins on the cross,2000 years ago,was buried,and rose from the dead the third day,was seen of men,and went back up to heaven.If we repent of our sins against God our creator,and trust Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour he will give to those who do eternal life in heaven by faith in the sinless shed blood sacrafice of Christ alone without sacraments,good works,church membership or other.For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God.Not of works lest any man should boast.From the Authorized King James Holy Bible,the word of God. George,
What has your comment to do with the quote?

Salvation is of the Lord and not of works lest any man should boast ! Sincerely;

Amen.
No-one here is disputing that.
Do you object to quotes from popes?

Yes,not that they shouldnt have free speech but because many things they say are unscriptural.Such as the Bible says there is one sacrafice for sins forever,the death and sinless shed blood of the Lamb of God ,The Messiah(Genesis 3:15),at the cross 2000 years ago but the popes say we must in the mass keep offering up the sacrafice of Christs body and blood over and over and over.But there is one sacrafice for sins forever! So that is one example of popes quotes being wrong from the Holy Bible. Sincerely;
