I have had responses elsewhere saying he is too soft on Islam and that it is inherently violent. It divides the world into the lands of peace where Islam rules and the lands of jihad where Islam fights. I believe most Muslims around me are peaceful despite their religion, not because of it. Muslims are usually better than their religion. Christians are always worse than the standards of Christ.
In Al-Madina, Muhammad organized a Muslim army to fight the Meccans, and annihilate the Jews and the Christians who rejected Islam.
Has anything changed? The followers of the Prophet are simply now acting according to their religious founder.
