Films seen November 2017

1. Identity Thief- Jason Bateman (Actor),‎ Melissa McCarthy (Actor),‎ Seth Gordon (Director)

Funniest film I have seen in a long time. Some bad language and a little sex but not offensive. The car chases are great, McCarthy is superb. A modern morality tale with a happy ending. Enjoy!

2.   (2017 TV Movie)

I rate this highly though my wife was disappointed after a friend said it was the best book she had read. The only shortcomings for me were failure to describe the sister's symptoms and not showing how the mother received the fiancee. Great dealing with many themes - race, prejudice, religion, culture, selfishness, family, mental illness, conflict, temper, lying, romance. Five stars from me.

3. She Stoops To Conquer

Confession. I did not see this as a DVD but on stage at Questors, Ealing. They did a quirky start as if a casting session for a rehearsal but then went into the play proper, the only reminder of the introduction being the modern footwear of the actors. We came in just as it was going to start so had latecomers reserved front row seats in a production with no numbered reserved seats so being late turned out well. We has a great evening so close to the action. It was a delight. One might say the two male leads, the young gentlemen from London overacted but it was such fun and one marvelled at Goldsmith's wit and dramatic skill. It made me want to hire a DVD to watch it again it was so good.
