They are following the tradition of Buxtons, Charringtons and the Guinness family all of whom were evangelicals who brewed, though their aim over 200 years ago was to get people off gin, mothers ruin. This Freedom Ale is in honour of a great Yorkshireman, William Wilberforce. I was given this and some British Bulldog, brewed to honour Churchill, from the same source, as a present from my daughter and son in law. I think it was a belated birthday present or was it belated fathers day too?
